Sarah Franklin is selected to receive the 2020 Outstanding Investigator Award of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR)

Sarah Franklin is selected to receive the  2020 Outstanding Investigator Award of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR). The award will be bestowed during the 2020 North American Section meeting (Denver, CO, May 26-29, 2020). As a recipient of this award, she will present a major lecture (which will be scheduled by the organizers of the meeting) and will receive $1,500 and a plaque.

The Outstanding Investigator Award is presented annually to an outstanding mid-career investigator (MCI) who is making major and independent contributions to the advancement of cardiovascular science, and leading a growing research program likely to play a significant role in the future. The main criteria for selecting awardees are scientific excellence, independence, and potential for future research contributions. Thus, the Outstanding Investigator Award targets investigators in the intermediate phase of an established academic career (at least Assistant or Associate Professor; normally <45 years of age and 5-10 years from their first faculty appointment).
