
Michael S. Kay, MD, PhD
Dr. Kay is a Professor of Biochemistry, the H.A. and Edna Benning Presidential Endowed Chair, and Director of the MD-PhD Program at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
He joined the University of Utah Department of Biochemistry in 2001. His research focus is mirror-image biology, particularly D-peptide drug discovery and advancing chemical protein synthesis tools for research and therapeutic applications. He has also served in multiple leadership positions, including as Director of the Biological Chemistry graduate program, founding Director of the Chemical Biology T32 training grant, and currently Director of the MD-PhD program and its associated MSTP T32 training grant.
